Logistics Support

In order to support the GBAS post implementation, GBAS service providers should ensure that appropriate Support Systems have been established to provide continuous maintenance and operation. This may include:

  • Maintenance Support: Maintenance Support should be performed by appropriately trained and qualified ANSP staff or delivered by the manufacturer. Maintenance Support may encompass regular performance inspections of the GBAS ground equipment and support infrastructure to verify the GBAS is operating in accordance with prescribed performance requirements and corrective maintenance activities. The Maintenance Support environment should ensure that there is an adequate level of spares available to meet Availability requirements and appropriate systems in place to record maintenance related issues. Timelines of the response to all maintenance requirements should also be addressed.
  • Engineering Support: Engineering should be performed by appropriately trained and qualified staff or delivered by the manufacturer. Engineering Support may encompass configuration management of the system, investigation of complex faults and failures, ongoing monitoring of GBAS performance and system enhancements.
  • Supply Support: Supply Support should ensure that there is adequate manufacturer support in place for ongoing logisticssupport including investigation of complex faults and failures, repair of equipment, and supply of additional spares.
